SHOULD CHRIST'S BIRTH BE CELEBRATED IN THE SPRING?
Those
who have followed this ministry for some time remember we posted a webcast, "Christmas truths and myths" which pointed
out that while Jesus birth is a historic event it wasn't Dec 25th. The early church celebrated His birth but no one knew
the exact date. In 325 AD, by decision of Constantine, the Messiah's birth was combined with a Roman festival celebrating
the birth of the sun god on December 25. During this webcast we followed the chronology showing Christs'
birth was in the spring. This coupled with the fact that retailers depend on this celebration to make their year profitable,
have made a sham of it by not acknowledging Christ at all. We proposed then that His birth be celebrated in the spring, away
from the rush, pagan overtones and rampant materialism that has become the holiday season. Until now, not much has happened
with this proposal, we think; for lack of a date we can rally around. So let us propose a date. The tenth day of the first
month. Jehovah's instruction in Exodus 12:3 says we should acquire our lamb or goat on this day. John the Baptist
said in John 1:29, Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! Like the passover lamb, at His trial He was
silent as a sheep before its shearers. In His death He was totally consumed but not a bone was broken. Just as Jehovah provided
a ram to take Issac's place on that alter, He provided a lamb for us in that manger. To us it seems to be the right
day. It moves the celebration of His birth away from the grievences already mentioned and into the proper season. The tenth
day this year will be April 6th. Do you have any thoughts about this? let's hear from you! don@globalrestorationnetwork.net

They that be of thee shall build the
old waste places:Thou shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called the repairer of the breach,
The restorer of the paths to walk in. Isiah 58:12
