Perhaps I'm putting the cart before the horse, but I believe a number of believers are asking, "Why should I repent"? I havn't done anything wrong. I follow the doctrine of my church, so what's the deal?
Please stick with me, I'll be more specific shortly! Right now I want to mention some general reasons repentance should move rapidly to the top of our priority list.
First, revival is always preceeded by or interwoven with repentance.  "Repent therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things"(Acts 3:19-21) If we are to have revival: repentance will preceed it! 
Secondly, Peter proclaimed repentance is one of the keys that will trigger Christ's return.
Third: Many believers struggle to have any kind of prayer life. A portion of these have almost given up because they say, "God doesn't hear them;" yet the Psalmist reveals: "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear". (Psalms 66:18)
Finally: Jehovah's command in 2 Chronicles 7:14 calls His people to humble themselves and pray forsaking their wicked ways. When your world is upside down, it's a good place to begin and it doesn't cost anything except your pride!

A global day of repentance? Who has heard of such a thing? Perhaps your someone who is satisfied with the conditions the world faces today. How about your nation? Are you happy with the conditions in your country? Is the crime rate low and the climate good? Is your government honest and your places of worship filled with God's presence? Is your nation threatened by enemies near or far?   
From my viewpoint, we all need help! Every nation and tribe has great challenges today but Jehovah has a solution. 
 

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.    2 Chron 7:14   

A few weeks ago a friend returning from a trip reported seeing the above scripture on signs posted on lawns in a town he visited. Notice the Lord's admonition is to His people, those who carry His name; to humble themselves and repent! God is waiting and your nation is waiting for you to carry out your part in releasing The Lord to commence healing your land.
September 28th,2009 at sunset until sunset the 29th at sunset, I'm calling every person to repent and fast for the sin of your nation. Make plans to meet with others where possible, and individually where necessary. Mark September 28th, 2009 on your calendar! Spread the word! Prepare!
