God's
Calendar?Does He have
one? Does the One who dwells in eternity keep time? We assure you...He does! Let there be lights
in the firmament of heaven...and let them be for signs, seasons, for days and years. (Genisis
1:14) When The Most High created the earth He created time as well.
Mankind was instructed in the function of
God's calendar from the beginning because God desires for mankind to
closely walk with Him. Time passed and men changed God's calendar into
objects of worship and used it to seek answers about their future. Because of these revisions God's
calendar has little in common with todays calendar.
God still follows His
calendar to this day. These are the times of the restoration of all things, (Acts
3:19-21) Including the understanding of the function and times God's calendar. For more instruction on GODS CALENDAR visit the media player on page 3 of this site and

How God's month begins.
Ever wonder how those guys in the bible knew what day of the month it was?
On the 17th day of the month Noah's flood began. (Genisis 7:11) On
the 1st day of the 10th month the Ark rested. (Gen 8.5)
In
God's calendar new months are signaled by the emergance of
the moon from total darkness. As you study notice that "new moon" and "Month" are translated from the
same Hebrew word; "chodesh." For example: Genisis 17:11 "chodesh"
is translated as month and Psalms 81:3 "chodesh"
is rendered moon. For them,
the new moon and a new month were synonymous!
Is sighting
and varification of new moons necessary to begin a new month? No...
This is traditional, however God has given no command
for men to witness or verify acts of nature from any location, for those acts to occur. This restores Jehovah's plan that
the sun, moon and stars are ruling over the day and night and are to announce signs, seasons, days and years. (Gen 1:14-18) This agrees with Jesus' teaching, (Acts 1:7) that "The Father has placed the times and the seasons in His
own hands." This also agrees with David's request of Jonathan that he be excused from the feast with Saul because
the new moon would occur tomarrow. (1Sam 20:5-25).
In
Jehovah's view, new months have never depended things as questionable as man's powers of observation or their desire
to obey, but on the certainty of heavenly luminaries which are not in rebellion against Him.
One kingdom month is based on one lunar orbit, from
first illuminated sliver to first illuminated sliver; either 29 or 30 days. This equals 354 days for 12 months so it's
necessary for a leap or 13th month to be added approximatly every third year. This special leap month is not at man's
disgression. Jehovah signals it by ripening the barley to a special stage known as "Aviv." Late
in the 12th month a search is made to see if barley is Aviv. If it is, than the approaching first sliver will begin a new
kingdom year. If no Aviv is found, a 13th month is added. Because the understanding of Aviv was lost for so many years, men
inserted the 13th month every third year. Comparing man's calendar with the Kingdom's will show that without the benefit
of Aviv man's timing can be off by one full month!
The first sliver was sighted December 17th at 5:19 PM. I was able to video
the event and you can enjoy it with us by clicking the player below.
Dates
of upcoming new moons: (1st
illuminated sliver after conjunctive darkness). We will call the new moon of March 16th
the thirteenth biblical month until the Aviv search is complete and we know for sure if this will be the beginning of a new
kingdom year or not. Moonrise occurs at 7:08 AM in the eastern sky (83 degrees). Illumination at rise will be 0% but increasing
to 1% shortly after and remaining so until set at 8:15 PM (281 degrees). Sunset occurs at 6:07 PM providing a window of 1
hour 53 minutes for viewing.
The determination as to whether the 13th month
will be the first month of a new Kingdom year or the last month of this year depends on barley in Israel being found in a
stage of ripeness known as Aviv before the appearance of the first sliver March 16th, 2010. When this information is available
we will let you know.
The evening of April 15th will host the next new
moon. Rise occurs at 6:37 AM at 66 degrees bearing 1% illumination increasing to 3% by set at 9:15 PM. Sunset occurs at 6:35
PM providing a window of 2 hours 45 minutes for best viewing opportunity.
We added this moon phase calendar for your convenience. The developer told us it's
accurate most of the time, but to be safe phases and dates shown should be considered
approximate. To avoid misunderstandings, confirm the calendar date with the date we post above
or by using the NASA link below. The calendar can be handy for a quick look or planning years ahead.
The new US Naval
Observatory link below can be used to obtain a chart showing the day each month when the moon is first illuminated. Upon accessing
the site, insert the year and select noon as your option. Input your time zone and compute the chart. Now look for the day
with all zeros; this indicates the moon is in total darkness. Now look for the date after the moon emerges from
darkness; usually showing between 1 to 3% illuminated. This is the beginning of Gods month, the biblical new moon. http://www.usno.navy.mil/USNO/astronomical-applications/data-services/frac-moon-ill
